Many believers in the health care field have a desire to use their specialized skills and experience in some way on the mission field. Most have their own professional careers or businesses and are not able to commit to be full-time medical missionaries. However, some are able to participate on 1-3 week short-term field team trips each year and GDMMissions has a variety of opportunities to fit different needs.
We work with different health care professionals and their local churches to match their skills and interests with a variety of opportunities. Planning team trips 6-12 months in advance helps define a mutually acceptable schedule. We then put together a medical team that best meets the needs of missionaries and national pastors on the field and the skills and schedules of available professionals.
Our goal is to eventually organize a short-term medical missions field team trip to a different part of the globe each month. Each trip would be uniquely staffed with Associate Missionaries and other medical professionals and support team members. Each team would be led by a Full-Time Medical Missionary or GDMMissions staff member.
